Chernobyl

I got involved with Chernobyl miniseries during the first couple months of 2019 at Dneg London. After working on several projects with sci-fi or magical elements this was a departure to a different kind of aesthetic, one that is firmly grounded in reality. My main task on the show was to create reactor 4 and surrounding environment after being damaged by steam explosion. I did most of the modelling in Maya with a bit of sculpting in Zbrush. Phillip Kratzer then provided his mad Houdini skills and wrapped the high resolution fuel rods geometry on to a groom I made in Xgen. Texturing part was done in Substance Painter mostly using procedural setups. I also spent time working on set extension for Kremlin corridor used through out the series. Other small tasks were mostly texturing and lighting for shots. Even though the show presented us with some challenges I am really proud that I could have been a part of it and the result makes me truly happy.
